You Can Do Anything

Have you ever been told that you can do anything if you put your mind to it? Now, have you ever thought about how true that statement is?

What is the purpose of life? This is a question that has plagued humanity since its existence. Sure, we know what we are supposed to do, but

why are we doing it? What’s the point? Since we may never have an exact answer to that question, we might as well make the best of it. So, why

do we waste our lives doing things that we don’t want to do? I’m sure everyone can think of 1000 excuses as to why they aren’t living the life they want to live, but the only thing that stops you from living that life is you. It’s like we don’t believe in ourselves enough to think we can live the life we want. You can do whatever you put your mind to, right? Think about what you would be doing at this moment if your life was perfect. Where would you be? What would you be doing with your life? What would bring you complete and utter peace and happiness? Now, think of what it would take to get to where you want to be.


For example, imagine if someone had the goal to be the most successful realtor in the country. First, they would need to get their realtor’s license. Then, they would need to find a way to grow their skills either independently or with a company. After that they might begin studying some of the most successful practices in the real estate industry. Then years later they take over the world…hopefully, you get the point lol. If that was their goal they would need to come up with a plan to get there and execute it. Now this person might not know a single thing about real estate, but if they believe they can learn and grow to become the best nothing will stop them. Yet, another person could have this same goal but decide it’s not possible because they don’t know a thing. They don’t think it’s even worth putting forth the effort.


Again, I say, you can do anything if you put your mind to it. It might not happen overnight, but the only way you can get closer is if you decide that you can do it and start working towards it.

Believe that it is yours and own it!

The mind is a very powerful thing. Your thoughts definitely control what happens in your life. If you believe you can do something, who can tell you that you can’t? The only person that can truly tell you that you can’t do something is yourself. No one else can make that decision for you. Nothing that happens in life can make that decision for you. You can make the decision to give up if the going gets tough or you can decide to keep going.

I want you to really sit down and think about what would make your life perfect. With no expectations or limitations, what are you doing in that life? Now, break it down into smaller goals. What would you have to do to get there? What would be the very first step you would need to take? Doesn’t matter what it is. Maybe it’s getting all your bills paid off, so you can save up for a yacht to sail around the world in (doesn’t that sound awesome?). K, what’s the smallest bill you can pay off to get things rolling? It’s that simple. No, you won’t have your yacht delivered tomorrow, but at least you’re working towards fulfilling that dream, right? It’s all about how you look at things. You can come up with excuses, or you can come up with solutions. The choice is yours.


What could you accomplish if you REALLY put your mind to it?

  1. People told me I can’t do what I want to do (work in a Japanee company) because I am not Japanese. Sure, the society is closed off and doesn’t like non-Japanese, but it doesn’t mean give up. I just have to find the gaps to get in.

  2. If I really put my mind to it, I bet I could get my kids to sleep through the night. And then I could get my own full night of sleep, and after that I could rule the world! Lol. Maybe I should just aim for the sleep for now. 🙂

    1. Haha! I have a little one so I know how it goes. It is possible to use your mind to get your children to sleep through the night. You’ve just got to start off with thinking what works, what doesn’t work, and what is it that usually makes them fall asleep. I’ve noticed that if I have any type of cartoons on my child will fight sleep to no end, but when I turn on meditation music (Mindful Kids is a wonderful channel on YouTube!) he’s usually sleep within 10-15mins. Then it’s mommy time!

  4. I do think we stop ourselves from doing a lot of things we could in life because we fear the unknown. And we don’t trust ourselves to accomplish things or we are convinced by someone we don’t have what it takes.

    1. YES!! So much yes to this! It is very easy to get so comfortable with what we know that we rather stay the same because we fear what might happen with change. That’s definitely where positive thinking and considering the best case scenario vs. worst case comes in.
